Materials Monday - St. Patrick's Day Preschool Language and Articulation Packet

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I'm looking forward to our mini break (3 day weekend) this weekend, and I'll be spending some time with my family that I haven't seen since Christmas.

Today I am posting the St. Patrick's Day Preschool Speech and Language Pack. It's a huge pack that targets both articulation and language skills at the preschool level.

Articulation:

The articulation portion targets phonemes /k/, /g/, /m/, /b/, and /p/. There are 12 cards for each initial, medial, and final phoneme. The articulation cards includes both words and pictures. Take a look below at the initial /k/ example.

I also include a page of blank pot of gold cards so that you can create your own articulation cards!

Also included is a Pot of Gold Dice Game. Now you can use this game both with the articulation cards to target specific phonemes or even for language goals like describing pictures, naming categories, etc. You don't have to use the articulation cards just for articulation.

The Pot of Gold Dice Game includes the Pot of Gold cards, shamrock cards (lucky and unlucky), as well as gold coins. The student should be instructed to roll the die and pick up the card that matches what the die shows. For example, if the student rolls a shamrock, then the student should select a shamrock card and follow the instructions. If the student rolls a pot of gold, then the student needs to select one (or two - pay attention to the dots on the pots of gold) pot of gold cards and if he/she says the target word correctly or describes the picture appropriately, then the student receives one gold coin. If the student rolls a gold coin, then the student would select one gold coin and the turn is over. The purpose of the game is to collect as many gold coins as the student can. The student with the most gold coins is the winner.

You will need to cut out the die and put it together. It was pretty easy for me to do. I just made sure to laminate my die before I put it together to ensure that it would last longer.

Language:

The language portion includes following directions, describing, and identifying similarities/differences.

The following directions section includes one page (12 cards) of 1-step directions, one page of temporal directions (with pictures), one page of conditional directions, and one page of 2-step directions.

The describing portion is simply a reference sheet that gives verbal and visual cues on how to describe an object. This sheet can be used in conjunction with the pot of gold articulation cards.

Finally, the last portion is the similarities/differences section. There are three pages total. The student should look at one row at a time (use a second page to cover up the rest of the page) and tell which object in the row is different from the other objects. Then the student can tell how it is different - the shamrock is dark green and the others are bright green, etc.

What do you think? I hope you love it!
